Music update

Recently we contacted the manager of the band "Madina Lake"  over perrmision to use their song "Hey superstar".
After a brief conversation by email we were granted the use of the song which will use in our production.

Mood Board

I created this mood board to help portray ideas in the genre of crime thriller. By creating this mood board it has also helped us to come up with and develop more ideas for our film project

Location Scouting

Myself and my partner went scouting for locations  for our project and found two areas close by which we thought would be suitable for several scenes in our media video. I have uploaded afew pictures from the first location scout below.

Film Idea's presentation

During Our media lesson we presented our media film project ideas as a powerpoint presentation to the class so we could get some feedback on our idea.
are we have decided to scrap our zombie and slasher film idea and continue with the Crime Thriller.

BBFC

The British Board of Film Classification is an independent, non-governmental body which has classified cinema films since it was set up in 1912 and videos/ DVDs since the Video Recordings Act was passed in 1984. The bbfc classifies films into categories U, PG,12A,12,15,18.

Creation of Production

Resently the myself and my partener met to create and production company name and logo that could be used when adding titles to our media project. After playing with afew designs and names we decided on the name "TerrorDrone Productions" and i had created a logo to match.

An analysis of the titles and music

This is a Time line of the casino royale opening title sequence. This has been done to help my media group to decide what titles and music could be used in our own project. We will be basing our title order on this plan.

Code and Conventions

A Code is the familiar and predictable forms and techniques used by the media to communicate ideas or to express an impression. Technical codes are  sound,camera angles, and lighting. Symbolic codes are the language, costume, and character body language. Written and audio codes are all music used in the film plus and soundtracks played in the background, both fit into the both of these 2 categories.

180° rule

The 180° rule is a film making rule that says that two characters in the same scene should have the same left/right relationship to each other.
The 180° rule is also called  the Line of Action. The rule says that the camera needs stay on one side of this line. Breaking this rule is most commonly referred to as crossing the line.

You use this technique and the shot reverse shot technique to create a realistic and smooth conservation scene.

Shot reverseshot is when different shots for example two people talking the shots could be other the shoulder and the the shot of person 1 talking would cut into person 2 talking

Match on action

This video has several examples on match on action and also a continuity mistake with a dog.
Match on action is when the character proforms and action for example opening a door and it cuts to a different shot of the same action.

Preliminary Exercise

Produce a continuity exercise which involves a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair oppersite another character with whom the exxhange a couple of lines of dialogue.
The task should include
-Match on action
-shot/reverse shot
-180 degree rule

First Post and Hello

Hello i am Ben,
I am taking a Media Studies course at Kenstimpson Community School.
I enjoy watching films, gaming and biking and i am also taking ICT Business Studies and IFS Finance.
